Procedure
Trigger Point Injection
Trigger point injections target painful knots of muscle (trigger points) that form when muscles do not relax. These tight bands of muscle can cause localized pain or refer pain to other areas of the body. Trigger points commonly occur in the neck, shoulders, and back.
During the procedure, a small needle is inserted directly into the trigger point, delivering a local anesthetic and sometimes a corticosteroid to relax the muscle and reduce inflammation. The procedure is quick and can provide significant relief from myofascial pain.
