Sacroiliac Joint Fusion

Sacroiliac (SI) joint fusion is a minimally invasive procedure designed to stabilize the sacroiliac joint by fusing it together, eliminating the abnormal motion that causes pain. This procedure is typically considered when conservative treatments such as physical therapy, medications, and SI joint injections have not provided lasting relief. During the procedure, small implants are placed across the SI joint through a small incision. Over time, the bone grows around the implants, creating a solid fusion that stabilizes the joint. The minimally invasive approach results in less tissue disruption, less blood loss, and a faster recovery compared to traditional open surgery. Most patients experience significant improvement in pain and daily function following the procedure.
