Procedure
Radiofrequency Ablation
Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) uses heat generated by radio waves to target specific nerves and temporarily disrupt their ability to transmit pain signals. This procedure is most commonly used for chronic facet joint pain in the neck and back, and can also be applied to other areas of the body.
RFA provides longer-lasting relief compared to injections alone, with results typically lasting 6 to 12 months or more. The treated nerves eventually regenerate, and the procedure can be repeated as needed. It is performed under fluoroscopic guidance in our in-office procedure suites.

- Longer-lasting pain relief (6-12+ months)
- Minimally invasive with quick recovery
- Effective for chronic facet joint pain
- Can be repeated as needed when nerves regenerate
