Procedure
Intracept
The Intracept procedure is a minimally invasive treatment that targets the basivertebral nerve (BVN) within the vertebral body. This nerve has been identified as a significant source of chronic low back pain, particularly in patients with degenerative disc disease and Modic changes visible on MRI.
During the procedure, radiofrequency energy is delivered through a specialized probe to ablate the basivertebral nerve, disrupting the pain signals at their source. Clinical studies have shown significant, long-lasting pain relief for patients who undergo the Intracept procedure.
